Our trips begin from our house in Sterling, AK.  Sterling is strategically located in the center of the Kenai Peninsula.  We are ten minutes from a boat launch on the world famous Kenai River and a short drive away from the ports of Whittier, Seward and Homer.  

John is a pilot for a major U.S. airline.  He groups his days off  together which, along with vacation time, allows for exploring, fishing and hunting all over the state for extended periods of time.  Working for a major airline allows off-time travel anywhere in the world; we choose Alaska, both summer and winter.   John feels lucky to have a wife who is his hunting and fishing partner and all around best friend.

If the boat is going out, Shanna is on board!  She loves to fish and the Alaskan outdoors.  She enjoys learning about Alaskan history and inventing new recipes to go along with the fish, clams, shrimp and wild game harvested.  Shanna has an Elementary Education degree and is a former 3rd grade teacher.  She presently operates an alcohol education program for minors and substitute teaches, which allows her a flexible schedule and maximum time for exploring through out Alaska.
